Abstract

Semiotics, as semantics and signs, tries to reveal the code of symbols and ambiguities that lie in the poetic text in order to open the meanings to the recipient and the continental. One of the theories of modern semiotics is Revater's theory; Riffaterre believes that the recipient through his linguistic and literary ability can derive two types of reading, namely discovery reading and retrograde reading. Discovery reading is the reading that does not go into the depths of meanings, but is concerned with the phenomena of meanings, but the feedback reading is the one that tries to discover the symbols of the text, its meanings and secondary purposes. There are also other elements in this theory that are considered elements of feedback reading, such as descriptive systems, matris, and the main nucleus, which will also help in a deep understanding of the text. In this study, a poem on the Gulf was studied on the basis of the descriptive analytical approach and the results showed that this poem from the grammatical point of view has few grammars, but from the semantic point of view, it has a lot of departure from the norm and semantic displacement that appeared on various rhetorical forms such as metaphor, metaphors and metaphors.
