Abstract
The main objective of this article is to elucidate the central role of educational, research, and cultural institutions in preserving, promoting, and deepening the Persian language and literature in Iraq, as well as to evaluate modern and contemporary approaches in this field. Adopting a descriptive–analytical approach grounded in the theories of institutional interaction and intercultural analysis, the study first examines the historical roots of the presence of Persian literature in Iraq. It then addresses the role of academic institutions (such as the universities of Baghdad, Kufa, and Basra) and the religious seminaries in Najaf in teaching and disseminating Persian texts. The research further analyzes contemporary approaches, including the application of digital tools and information technology in education and research, as well as joint initiatives, international collaborations, and the role of conferences and literary associations. The findings indicate that Persian literature has exerted profound and multifaceted influences on Iraq’s literary structure, including linguistic, aesthetic, and intellectual dimensions—particularly in mystical concepts and contemporary poetic and prose styles. Despite challenges such as political instability, economic constraints, and administrative bureaucracy, there are significant opportunities for the development of these studies, including cultural proximity, institutional interest, and the potential of digital tools.
