Abstract

Doubtlessly, contemporary Arabic poetry, whether traditional or modem, has contributed to explaining the socio-political events, with which Arab world has confronted. Poetry has been an outcry that has awakened nations’ conscience, encouraged their zeal, and provoked them to resist against those who attempt to damage their nations, histories and lives.
Regarding this influence, there is not any difference between kind and form of poetry. Form of poetry cannot be as much influential as the poet him/herself. When speaking about a poet, it is meant that real poet who enjoys blessings and taste, and lives amid ebulliences of his/her nation’s sufferings, and his/her socio-political conflicts.
Arab world, which is encountering many crises, tensions and cruelties, needs those outcries coming from heart to scratch the ears, stimulate sentiments, and encourage zeal. And it can be actualized through any way and art, on the condition that it emanates from pure feelings.
Present article deals with the duty of contemporary poet and his/her poems towards society and socio-political developments.
