A Comparative Analysis of Mosaic Rhyme"Compound pun" in Persian and Arabic Literature
Abstract
The comparative and contrastive analysis of pun (jeans) in Arabic and Persian languages has been making the Liberian’s minds engaged for ages. In the present essay, there has been a chance of studying and clarifying some of the differences of opinion between the two languages’ literatures regarding the pun in general, and the mosaic rhyme (compound pun) in specific. To do so, in the first place, we have define pun, explaining its role and importance in enrichment of words and form (appearance) of literature and secondly we have studied the concept and content of the pun in a way that various types of pun which have not ever been discussed in Persian, or even they have not been introduced subcategories of other literati terms rather that those of pun [i. e., they have been introduced subcategories of other literary terms rather that those of pun] are all presented and studied in the present survey.
Notably, the most important and controversial issue of the present essay in the existence of contradiction as well as the deficiencies and mistakes in the opinions of “speech figures and rhetoric’s scholars” in Persian literature regarding the mosaic rhyme (compound pun) along with critical approach to some of those views.
The study at the and comes to the conclusion that the literal of Arabic language have been more precise and exact concerning pun and its divisions, and they have presented more comprehensive and elaborated definitions and subcategories in comparison to Persian libertarians
