Common Elements between Caricature Satire Poetry of Abbasid Period and Caricature

Abstract

The caricature sarcasm highlights the role of the poet in strengthening the truth and spirit of human being through showing personality ambiguities, inappropriate behaviors, the society and its social, mental and even material problems, political happenings and the related personalities and many other issues.
Such kind of sarcasm approaches itself to caricature as a unique art through shouting a warning and painful laugh over unfair powerful people and social and political deceivers and the killers of live and hope.
Finally, the current study introduces and recognizes the caricature sarcasm as a kind of satire is more involved in courage and criticism in contrast to other artistic and literary satires because it highlights greatly and skillfully personal, ethical, social and political faults and features.
In the present study, the caricature sarcasm has been investigated in a number of Abbasid period poets` poems such as Debel, Abunovas, Ebne-rumi and Motenabbi. In case such poets want to deal with physical or mental faults, or desid to transact with social and political issues, they depict such issues skillfully with a caricature view.
