Joseph's Mask in Modern Palestine Poet

Abstract

Masking is one of the most important tools that contemporary poets of Arab have recourse to in 20th century, after 60s (in 1960s). In fact, these poets express their own words by those personages through the masking of religious, historical, Sufi, and mythic characters.
Quran specially prophet's stories in Quran are the most important sources that modern poets have caught their subject and personality from it and without any doubt Joseph story (salutation for him) is one of the most important stories that uses in modern Arabic poet specially Palestine poet.
In spite of Joseph is symbol of oppression in Palestine poetical works of poets, but sometimes are seen changes in using of this symbol. In M. Darwish poetical work sometimes Joseph is weakness symbol and sometimes is elective personality symbol in poet mind so we want that study Joseph mask generally in modern Palestine poet and specially in M. Darwish poetical work and investigate different aspects in Joseph story and the effect of drama agents in “I am Joseph, my father” ode.
