Intellectual and cultural transformation in the Quranic language system in light of Bon’s semantic approach (studying the AL aqle as a model)

Abstract

The linguistic system stimulates the intellectual and cultural transformation of those who speak and sometimes affects the establishment of cultures and civilizations. Bon Semantic School based its researches on this issue and relied on intellectual principles and approaches to address the linguistic system. The Qur’an as a linguistic system with all its linguistic elements lacks the study of the intellectual or cultural transformation that from which national or collective mind. Given the importance of the issue of how thought and culture are formed in the linguistic system of the Qur’an, we have addressed the semantic structures forming the word al aqle. Depending on the descriptive-analytical approach, and according to the statistical methodology, this research examined the employment of Bon Semantic School theory. Among the most important results that we have reached are that the coherence of the “al aqle” with “al elme” in the linguistic methods led to the intellectual transformation which is the transition from the passive Thought to the active Thought.
